Reentry & After Care Program

REENTRY & AFTER CARE

We are equipping our brothers with the fundamental knowledge and skills they will need to navigate the remainder of their teenage years and carry them into young adulthood to be productive members of their community.

Program Overview

Reentering society following release from jail or prison is very difficult for offenders as well as their families. Former offenders often struggle with a lack of education and employment opportunities, limited housing options, substance abuse, and an overall lack of life and social skills, among other issues. The Reentry & After Care program seeks to fill the service gap for young men ages 16-21, providing case management and connecting them to the resources they need to transition back into the community and avoid recidivism. We offer a variety of programs that span seven domains which we have identified as presenting the greatest challenges to the men we serve. Upon enrollment, young men identify the top three domains in which they most need assistance. A case manager will work with each young man to ensure they are connected to the appropriate programs and resources.

Enrolling is easy. Simply complete the form here and you will be contacted about your interest.

Higher education program reduce recidivism and translate into reductions in crime, savings to taxpayers, and long-term contributions to the safety and well-being of the communities to which returning citizens reenter.

95 out of every 100 incarcerated people eventually rejoin society, it is crucial we develop programs and tools to effectively reduce recidivism.

Only 41.8 percent of African American male high school students in N.C. get a diploma, and AA males make up 60 percent of N.C. prison population.

Gainful employment is one of the defining characteristics of successful reentry, and successful reentry into society ultimately lower the likelihood of an individual reverting back to illegal activity. Increased Employment...Reduced Recidivism.
